Why Your Messaging Needs Your Voice.

Your audience is SMART.
They will eventually see through any veil of imitation.
Being brave in your brand means insisting on yourself.
Insisting: 💙 You are enough to carry the weight of a brand. 💙 Your energy is glorious both when it ebbs and flows. 💙 Your promise of imperfection is something to celebrate.
So what does this have to do with copywriting and content creation?
EVERYTHING. Your words, your messaging, the sharing of your day to day struggles and successes, and the care with which you take to move people into ACTION is absolutely everything.
And by "action" I mean:
✏️ Email sign-up
✏️ Online purchase of product or service
✏️ Filling out of a form
✏️ ...you get the idea.
Driving from a place of emotion and truth, your copy and content needs to come from you.
Not a downloadable template.
Not a really great thing you saw someone else do.
Not that pin you've been saving on Pinterest.
Use the above for inspiration? Sure.
Copy and recreate it? Nope.
Instead here are THREE ways to begin ⤵
Speak TO Your Audience (second person): You do not want to speak about the people, or at the people, but you want to speak to the people. As if over coffee and a croissant on a rainy afternoon, sharing a story, a struggle, a helpful tip, or whatever it may be.
Keep It Simple: Keep your language clear and concise. Don't bury your messaging under flowery words, or worse, under hiding behind expressions and abbreviations that are "on trend".
Use Emotion: If you want to light up the page, or the screen, emotion for the win every time. Cold, distant, sale-sy messaging has seen its day. But language that authentic to you, that is passionate and truthful will attract the right people and keep them vested in reading. And honestly, emotion can push people past less than perfectly structured sentences and drive them to inspired action.
If you want to truly speak to the people that need to hear you, you must speak from a place where they are willing to listen.
Your audience is SMART.
They want to hear YOU.
Not the echoes of others.
Insist on yourself. Never imitate.
